Member Experience Officer Role

What Next, Coach? (WNC) is looking for a bubbly, organised, creative and forward thinking individual who is passionate about working with SMEs to join our team as Member Experience Officer (MEO) and act as primary interface between WNC and its members.


This role would suit a driven individual with 1 - 2 years relevant experience who leads through their ability to organise and deliver projects and events, can engage audiences of all ages through honed communication skills and ultimately, can deliver a sales and marketing campaign that will produce growth and improve engagement within the vibrant membership community.


Summary of Responsibilities

  • Handling all questions, information requests, and complaints regarding membership.

  • Processing membership applications, renewals, and resignations.

  • Maintaining and updating membership records.

  • Assisting with member communication activities.

  • Collecting data, tracking membership statistics, and preparing reports.

  • Developing and implementing strategies to recruit new members.

  • Coordinating with the accounting department to track membership revenue.

  • Preparing membership marketing materials.

  • Organizing events and activities for existing and prospective members.

  • Provide other administrative support as needed

Education and Experience

  • Recent graduate with a business/marketing related degree

  • Hands-on experience of communications and media (advantageous)

  • At least one year's marketing experience, preferably with a membership organization

Person Specification

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • A good knowledge of office practices, administration, marketing and customer service skills and techniques

  • A good knowledge of scheduling apps & programs to manage online postings on different platforms.

  • Able to establish and maintain good working relationships with other departments, members and suppliers

  • A good knowledge of the basics of using Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to include phone communication skills.

  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Technology literate:

    • Able to use a variety of software including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, teleconferencing etc.

    • Familiar with using email, e-marketing, e-discussion groups, web updates, etc


  • Passionate about the SME industry

  • Interested in marketing, business development and brand building

  • Willingness to learn

  • Ability to take initiative

  • Ability to work unsupervised​​


  • Own a working laptop and smartphone

  • Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends, as required

Candidates based in Abuja will be given preference, however this is a largely remote role.
